Just as medicine combines both art and science, so does hypnotherapy.  Your choice of Hypnotherapist has everything to do with a successful outcome.

Q:  What is hypnosis?

A:  Hypnosis is the art and science of suggestion.  Suggestion is the uncritical acceptance of an idea. 

 

Q:  How effective is hypnosis?

A:  The effectiveness of hypnosis varies from application to application and from subject to subject.  From my experience, when a person accepts responsibility for their own behavior, results and outcomes in life, hypnosis can be a very effective and powerful tool in assisting a person in achieving success.

 

Q:  Will I be asleep while in hypnosis?

A:  No, you are not unconscious while in hypnosis.  Hypnosis is a true state of consciousness, not unconsciousness.  Hypnosis is more like daydreaming than sleep.

 

Q:  Can everyone be hypnotized?

A:  Most everyone can enjoy the benefits hypnosis has to offer.  You must be able to relax, accept suggestion, cooperate and have at least average intelligence to get the very most from hypnosis.

 

Q:  Will I be able to drive after being hypnotized?

A:  Of Course!  Hypnosis is just a means by which we communicate with the subconscious mind.

 

Q:  Is hypnosis dangerous?

A:  An emphatic NO!  In all the annuals of recorded history there is not one scientifically documented case of hypnosis causing any physical or psychological harm.

 

Q:  Can I be made to do something that I don’t want to do?

A:  No.  You will not do anything during hypnosis that you would not normally do.  Suggestions must be acceptable.

 

Q:  Is hypnotherapy recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA)?

A:  Yes.  Although hypnosis has existed for centuries, the modern medical use of hypnotherapy as sanctioned by the American Medical Associated achieved its formal recognition in 1958.
